Non Contact Voltage Portal
NON-CONTACT VOLTAGE PORTAL...Reduce Arc Flash Risk
Provides Maintenance Personnel a No-Touch Voltage Portal on the Outside of Grounded Metallic Electrical Enclosures
• When the NFPA published their Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace in the year 2000, that document generated essential changes in the way both electrical and mechanical maintenance is performed in industrial facilities.
• As with any new regulation, employee productivity has been adversely affected. Is it possible to both retain a reduction in injuries witnessed because of NFPA70e while still maintaining better levels of employee productivity? The answer is yes.
• The portal interface, installed on an electrical panel, allows maintenance people to use a non-contact voltage detector 'pen' to check line voltage before and after they open the main disconnect. The ability to preverify electrical isolation before opening a panel puts an additional safety measure between electricians and hazardous voltage.
